Supercars Transporter Convoy is on!

Northern Territory Major Events Company

A favourite spectacle will return to Darwin on Thursday, 6 August, with the Supercars Transporter Convoy set to cruise through town ahead of the BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown on 8-9 August and the CoreStaff Darwin SuperSprint on 15-16 August.

For the first time this year Darwin is hosting a doubleheader of Supercars action, and the Convoy will mark the start of almost three weeks of the Supercars teams residing in the Top End in preparation for the double whammy.

The Convoy will follow its usual route, departing Hidden Valley at 6.30pm, turning left on the Stuart Highway towards the CBD, then onto Daly Street, Mitchell Street, Knuckey Street and McMinn Street, before heading on to Garramilla Boulevard and taking Tiger Brennan Drive back to Hidden Valley.

In line with the event’s COVID Safety Plan, the Convoy will not stop in the CBD this year, but will form a continuous procession of everything Supercars. People are requested to spread out along the route rather than gather in the CBD.

Tickets to this year’s BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown and CoreStaff Darwin SuperSprint start from as little as $35. Buy your ticket online in advance for express, contactless entry on the day. To secure your spot trackside, visit www.darwinsupercars.com.au

As noted by NT Major Events Chief Executive Officer Tim Watsford:

“The Supercars Transporter Convoy is just the start of what will be a memorable year of Supercars action for the Territory, with not one weekend of racing, but two.

“We can’t wait to join everyone in welcoming the Supercars teams to town. There’s something special about watching the Convoy roll by, and you can sense the excitement building for race day.

“In line with physical distancing guidelines, we urge spectators to spread out to watch the procession, rather than gather in large groups. We have plenty of space up here, so no one will miss out.”
