Supporting military and veteran students along our US corridors

We’re celebrating 10-years of expanded travel choices in Northern Virginia, by contributing $25,000 in emergency grants and scholarship funds to college students.

Our donation to the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation’s (NOVA Foundation) Student Success Fund, the non-profit arm of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), will help launch a dedicated military and veteran fund, providing financial support for academically successful students facing financial hardship.

NOVA is among the top ten largest community college systems in the United States with their six campuses serving more than 4,000+ veteran and military students.

This donation builds upon a decade of supporting our local communities-including the military personnel who can utilize the Express Lanes for a faster and more reliable trip across the region’s many military installations and home again.

We look forward to continuing to honor current and former service members through opportunities that recognize their unique skills and talents as they transition to civilian life.

“For more than ten years, Transurban’s focus has been to strengthen the communities along the corridors in which we operate,” said Chief Financial Officer for North America Mike Discenza.

“With one of the largest populations of veteran, military and government families in the nation calling Northern Virginia home, we honor their service to our country and are committed to supporting their education and transition to the civilian work force.”

“Congratulations to Transurban for ten years of transportation innovation in Northern Virginia” said Executive Director of NOVA Educational Foundation Kelly Persons.

“This partnership and investment are a testament to recognize the sacrifice of NOVA’s veteran and military-affiliated students during ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Veterans and Military Families Month.”
