Emerging technological industries in Western Australia will receive a boost in support, with Commissioners for the City of Perth approving a $15,000 sponsorship to link innovation to the resources sector.
Established in 2014, Unearthed Solutions is a Perth-based organisation which aims to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the resources sector through technology.
Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said as technology develops it is important for Perth to remain a relevant and attractive location for future investment.
“Unearthed Solutions has a proven track record in supporting start-up entrepreneurs and connecting them with leaders and companies within the resources sector,” Commissioner Lumsden said.
“Opportunities such as this ensure the next generation of technology innovators contribute to Perth’s reputation as a continuous knowledge centre.
“It’s important the City actively contributes to the growth and development of the local start-up community, so we can continue to be a global mining hub.”
The sponsorship will go towards two major Unearthed Solutions’ events next year which are expected to attract national and international start-up entrepreneurs, encouraging cross-industry collaboration to create prototype solutions to current challenges facing the resources sector.
