Surf Coast Shire Councillors have been appointed to committees and organisations to represent and advocate for the community on a range of high priority topics.
At its December meeting, councillors were officially appointed to 19 regional and peak organisations representing the Surf Coast Shire community in 2023.
Council’s representatives will cover a range of areas including the local government sector, Council advisory committees, culture and events, tourism, sustainability, health and wellbeing.
Surf Coast Shire Council Mayor Liz Pattison said that representation on the committees and peak bodies is an important way to achieve Council’s goals.
“We understand that working in partnerships with others is essential in delivering great outcomes for our community,” Cr Pattison said.
“We know Council can’t do it all alone and these appointments for next year will help work with the strengths of other organisations. I congratulate my fellow Councillors for securing these positions and we will continue to work hard in advocating for Surf Coast Shire.”
