Detectives are investigating after fire destroyed a residence in Island Plantation overnight.
Emergency services attended the Massey Road property shortly before 1.30am and found the house well alight.
Preliminary investigations indicate the occupant woke to a loud explosion around 1.25am before fire took hold of the home.
Investigators believe the blaze may have been deliberately lit as a silver utility was seen leaving area around the time for the fire.
No one was injured.
Detectives are appealing for anyone travelling in the area between 1am and 1.30am with dash-cam footage, or information about the incident, to contact them.
