Council recently adopted a revised Sustainable Building and Infrastructure Policy at its March 2022 Meeting.
The new applies to the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and disposal of Council owned and managed buildings, roads, car parks, drainage, and open space assets. It also applies to Council owned buildings and assets which are leased.
The updated reflects current best practice in , which is a key priority in today’s built environment.
The sustainable design of Bayside’s assets and infrastructure reduces both our impact on the environment and reduces future costs of our community buildings and infrastructure, through lower energy and water bills.
Council will ensure the costs of implementing ESD initiatives and the benefits of reduced operating costs are integrated into long-term financial planning to renew and replace buildings and other assets.
The new Policy supersedes the Sustainable Infrastructure Policy 2017.
