Victoria have named a star-studded 12-player Second XI squad for next week’s four-day match against Queensland at CitiPower Centre.
Glenn Maxwell will play his first match of the new domestic season after returning from Australia’s recent One-Day series against England in the United Kingdom.
Maxwell will be joined in the side by Will Sutherland, who has been named Captain for the clash which gets underway on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Reilley Mark is in line to make his Second XI’s debut after impressing in his first pre-season with the Victorian Cricket Team.
It continues a whirlwind year for the talented off-spinner, who signed a State Rookie Contract in June following a breakout season in Premier Cricket which included a remarkable 8-wicket haul for Richmond in their clash against Frankston Peninsula.
Xavier Crone and Jon Merlo have also been named and will use this opportunity to continue to push for selection in Victoria’s next Sheffield Shield clash against NSW on October 20.
There will be no broadcast of the match, however Cricket Victoria will provide updates where possible.
