The Sydney Metro West project has agreed to hold a series of public information sessions for the suburbs surrounding the three new metro stations in the City of Canada Bay.
“I am happy that Sydney Metro West leadership has agreed to facilitate a series of information sessions and bring along their best and brightest subject experts to answer all of our community’s concerns,” Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.
On March 15 Council unanimously endorsed an item put forward by Mayor Angelo Tsirekas which called on the Metro project to speak directly to residents at a series of public meetings.
“I have heard concerns about the impacts of tunnelling, out of hours truck movements, impacts of construction workers parking on local streets and a number of other issues from residents.”
“I strongly urge that all members of our community attend these sessions to learn more about the project and ask questions of the leaders and experts in attendance.”
“Of course, we welcome this landmark project to our area but it’s vital now that Metro is communicating with our local community, ensuring that all questions are answered, and concerns seen to.”
The announcement of the information session coincides with the Sydney Metro West’s exhibition of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) exhibition for rail infrastructure, precincts, stations and operations. The EIS was released this week and will be on public exhibition until 4 May 2022.
The details for the upcoming information sessions are as follows:
- Five Dock Library, Five Dock on Thursday 31 March between 3.30pm and 6.30pm
- Concord Farmers Market, Cintra Park, Concord on Sunday 3 April, between 8.30am and 12.30pm
- Concord Community Centre, 1A Gipps Street, Concord on Wednesday 20 April between 4pm and 7pm
