As well as supporting local creatives to showcase their stories, these recipients will grow regional audiences, drive tourism and provide job opportunities in their communities.
$640,000 in funding will enable more than 330 NSW artists, comedians, dancers, musicians and cultural workers to tour their highly-anticipated programs to an expected audience of 100,000 people across regional NSW.
This diverse and inclusive range of productions are guaranteed to inspire audiences of all ages.
Accessible Arts CEO, Liz Martin, said the funding will support the 2024 regional tour of accessible comedy show, Are You Pulling My Leg? which will showcase some of Australia’s funniest comedians with disability to audiences in North West NSW and the Southern Tablelands.
“This funding will realise the touring ambitions of talented comedians with disability, expanding the reach and impact of their work as they demonstrate the inclusivity of comedy. Venues will also be upskilled through specialised disability confidence training, paving the way for more inclusive production tours,” Ms Martin said.
