After an exciting build up, the time is almost here for Women’s Big Bash League action to begin right here in Tasmania.
Tonight’s match between the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars at Blundstone Arena will mark the opening of the 2021-22 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) season, with the Hobart Hurricanes set to open their account against the Melbourne Renegades this Saturday afternoon at Blundstone Arena.
In a massive coup for our State, the first 20 matches will be held at venues across Tasmania (Blundstone Arena, UTAS Stadium and Invermay Park) over the coming weeks, giving cricket fans across the State a chance to get a taste of the action.
All of the matches will be broadcast or streamed on Seven, Foxtel or Kayo, showcasing our beautiful State to the rest of the Country.
The tournament also presents a big opportunity for local businesses who will benefit from the increase in trade.
Importantly, strict COVID-safe protocols have been in place for teams leading up to the matches to ensure the health and safety of Tasmanians over the coming weeks.
