The Hodgman Liberal Government has committed more than $50 000 to helping Tasmanian artists and arts organisations connect with their interstate and international counterparts through Arts Tasmania’s latest funding round.
Six Artsbridge program recipients will share in more than $36 000 – allowing them to participate in exciting opportunities interstate and overseas, or attract visiting arts professionals to Tasmania.
The Terror Australis Readers and Writers Festival, based in the Huon Valley, will bring interstate professionals to Tasmania to network with local writers and run a series of masterclasses.
Among other recipients, composer Dylan Sheridan will undertake opportunities in Europe and collaborative publishers Justine Phillips and Margaret Woodward will attend the London Small Publishers Fair 2019.
Two other artists will each receive $7 000 through the Arts Tasmania Claudio Alcorso International Residency program, which is in its final year.
Arts Tasmania will continue to develop international opportunities for individual artists, and thanks the Alcorso Foundation for years of fruitful partnership.
The Unconformity’s Travis Tiddy will travel to Europe to research place-based art festivals, and visual artist Tricky Walsh will complete a residency and exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France.
