The Taste of Manly food and wine festival which was due to be held on Manly Oval this weekend (28/29 May 2022) has been impacted by the heavy rains. But, in a quick turnaround and thanks to the support from Local Area Command, Council is proud to bring a revised format, Taste of Manly Beer & Spirits Garden to The Corso in place of the food and wine festival.
Unfortunately, due to the continual rain this week making the ground completely sodden, it is impossible to move the required event infrastructure onto to Manly Oval such as the stage, marquees and seating.
Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the rain won’t dampen our spirits and we are pleased the event, although a little different to what was planned, will still go ahead.
“We’re disappointed we can’t hold the big event at Manly Oval, but what better way than celebrate local with a special intimate event in the Corso. I encourage everyone to come check it out.
“Local businesses are the epicentre of our community and we have stood by them through difficult periods during the past couple of years and will continue to support them.
“Many local businesses will still be involved at the new location in The Corso so the community will be able to sample some of the best local food and drinks our area has to offer,” Mayor Regan said.
Local food vendors coming to the event include The Bavarian, Little Viet, Mex & Co, Felix Halter and The Tropic Manly.
Local breweries and distilleries include 7th Day Brewery, Bucketty’s Brewery, Dad & Dave’s Brewing, Freshwater Brewing Co, Modus Brewing, NOMAD Brewing Co and Manly Spirits Co. Distillery serving a range of craft beer, cider, seltzer, ginger beer, gin and vodka.
Joel Freeme from 7th Day Brewery said it will be a great event no matter where it is held.
“7th Day Brewery is extremely happy that Council have found an alternative way to allow Taste of Manly to proceed.
“We look forward to seeing plenty of smiles and fun throughout the weekend. We would like to acknowledge the Council staff who will turn this around in such a short period to ensure local people and businesses can enjoy this fantastic event,” Mr Freeme said.
Local musicians will entertain visitors throughout the day, including Roshani, LamBros., Seani & Friends, Black Bird Hum, K!d the Band, Looped up Kicks, Eagle Eye Jones and Lady King.
Ticketing details have also changed due to the revised program. Current ticketholders will be contacted and automatically refunded.
Tickets to The Corso event will only be available at the gate on a first come, first served based. Ticket pricing includes a tasting glass.
