A short foot chase has resulted in the arrest of a teen northern suburbs this morning.
Just after midnight, Tuesday 6 November, Northern district police were patrolling in Elizabeth Park when they noticed a male sitting on a black Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle attempting to push start it down the road.
Police stopped and spoke to the male and conducted a registration check on the motor bike. Checks revealed that the bike was unregistered and that the name the male had given was false. As police informed him of this the male allegedly sprinted away from police.
The patrol took chase and caught him a short distance away where a struggle ensued before the male was arrested. It will be further alleged a search of the 17-year-old teen uncovered a quantity of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.
The teen from Pennington has been charged with unregistered, unlicenced, provide false details, hinder police, resist arrest, sell controlled drug and assault police, after he allegedly spat in the face of one of the officers during the arrest.
The teen has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court today, Tuesday 6 November.
