Tender Out For Hobart City High School Redevelopment

Tasmanian Government

The Tasmanian Government is delivering on our commitment to redevelop Hobart City High School, with the construction tender released today.

The $23 million redevelopment of the school, which commenced with early enabling works to support co-educational learning at both campuses, will feature contemporary facilities for students and staff at the New Town Campus.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the works will include flexible learning spaces for increased student engagement and wellbeing.

“This redevelopment has been shaped by extensive consultation with students, staff, and the broader community,” Minister Palmer said.

“Our Government is committed to delivering the education facilities our students deserve.

“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we will continue to upgrade education facilities across the State.”

Works at the school are expected to commence in early 2025 and be completed in 2026.

The Hobart City High School redevelopment is part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government’s record investment in new education infrastructure across the State.
