  • Water, gas, electricity and other services to be extended
  • $400,000 project part of $5.5 billion COVID-19 WA Recovery Plan
  • Tenders have been called for the extension of vital services at Albany Waterfront Marina to allow further development of the facility by the private sector.

Harbour manager, the Department of Transport (DoT), plans to extend water, gas, electricity, sewer and communications services to a 1,734 square metre site on the marina’s western breakwater at Albany Waterfront Marina.

Expressions of interest have been called for the development of the site and negotiations are continuing with a preferred proponent.

The $400,000 project, funded by the State Government’s $5.5 billion WA Recovery Plan, is scheduled for completion later this year and also included a lighting upgrade at Toll Place last year.

As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:

“With the further development and growth of the facility, it will be an even bigger drawcard for both locals and visitors to the region.”

As stated by Albany MLA Rebecca Stephens:

“I look forward to seeing the next stage of this development take shape.”
