Queensland contractors are invited to tender for the structural repair work of Yeppoon’s former rail station building.
Member for Keppel Brittany Lauga encouraged all qualified and experienced local contractors to be part of this exciting project for the Yeppoon community.
“Maintaining the heritage-listed former rail station will have a positive impact on the community and support local jobs,” Mrs Lauga said.
“The Palaszczuk Government is investing $475,000 for much-needed building maintenance works to the former railway station building.
“The rail station is a significant part of Yeppoon’s local history.
“Maintaining the building’s structural integrity will provide a legacy for future generations.”
The maintenance works are the first step to ensure the station building will be structurally sound for a future re-use as part of an overall development opportunity, to be known as Station Quarter, in the heart of Yeppoon.
State funding for the project has been delivered through the Palaszczuk Government’s Growth Area and Regional Infrastructure Investment Fund.
