Jane Howlett,Minister for Sport and Recreation
On behalf of the Tasmanian Government, I would like to thank Netball Tasmania’s Chief Executive Officer Aaron Pidgeon who will depart the organisation on 3 December 2021.
Aaron took up Netball Tasmania’s top position in May 2017 following a successful career in Tasmania’s banking sector as a Human Resources Manager.
Aaron has always had a strong connection with netball in our State and his understanding of the sport at both community and a high performance level spans many years. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Aaron coached Tassie Spirit for six years in the Australian ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ League and was involved in our Tasmanian Institute of Sport High Performance Programs.
It was this combination of experience in both the private and sporting sector that saw Aaron lead Netball Tasmania into one of its strongest positions to date, including participation numbers increasing significantly during his time as CEO. This is a real credit to Aaron’s leadership and vision.
Fortunately, Tasmanian sport will not be losing Aaron as he takes on his next opportunity as Head of Tasmania – North Melbourne Football Club. True to Aaron’s longstanding commitment to Netball, he will also return to his former passion of coaching in local Netball competition .
Congratulations to Aaron on his appointment and I wish him all the best for the future.
