The Christmas Night Markets will be taking over Merrylands Civic Square transforming the centre into a festive night market for one night only.
Just in time for the most wonderful time of the year, the Christmas Night Markets will be held on Friday 15 December from 5pm to 9pm and will feature a range of live entertainment, photos with Santa, roving Christmas characters, plus up to 20 vendors offering a range of food, jewellery and accessories, handmade art and craft items and more!
Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake invited the community to come along and enjoy the festivities ahead of Christmas.
“It’s going to be a fun event for the whole family. Whether you’re shopping for gifts for your loved ones or treating yourself, there is something for everyone. This is a great event that will showcase a range of Australian market stalls offering a range of creative and unique items- so it’s a good opportunity to find a present while supporting our Australian small businesses,” said Mayor Lake.
The Holroyd Brass Band and Kiss the Frog featuring Antoine will be playing live at the event, visitors will also enjoy interacting with the roving characters such as the unicycling fairies, the snow princess, Christmas toy soldier, roller-skating Christmas candy canes, juggling and hula hooping elves and more.
Showcasing up to 20 vendors, the event will feature a mix of boutique stallholders offering a range of food, vegan and handmade soaps and self-care products, organic food condiments, jewellery, Christmas decorations, stocking fillers and more.
The Merrylands Civic Square Christmas Night Markets is a part of the Council’s ‘Eat Drink and Be Merrylands’ program and aims to engage with residents and encourage visitors to explore the new precinct.
