‘The Crazy Bull’ Miguel Maestre makes his return to culinary carnival

Fairfield City’s biggest foodie festival Culinary Carnival returns to Fairfield City Centre this month, and everyone is invited.

Prepare your senses for Council’s ultimate street party hosting food, music and dancing from all around the world – and this year celebrated chef, restaurateur, author and television presenter Miguel Maestre will be headlining the festivities from 2pm-5pm.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said festivalgoers’ tastebuds are in for a treat.

“This year’s event is gearing up to be bigger than ever; marking the return of ‘The Crazy Bull’ Miguel Maestre who headlined the event back in 2013 and 2014, and popular Assyrian songstress Sonia Odisho and the Pepa Molina Flamenco Dance Group,” Mayor Carbone said.

“Maestre was a huge hit with crowds in previous years and we can’t wait to see what he’ll be dishing up at this year’s event, alongside some of our award-winning food vendors and restaurateurs serving up a multitude of cultures on a plate.

“Fairfield City prides itself on hosting inclusive and affordable family events that support local business, and Culinary Carnival is no exception.

“What makes our City such a unique and special place is the wonderful diversity of its residents and their passion for sharing and celebrating their culture with the greater Sydney community.

“I invite you to come along and experience what all the hype is about.”

Council’s FREE food fiesta will showcase authentic local eats, local cultural performances, junior cooking workshops, competitions and amusement rides in Spencer and Ware streets, Fairfield City Centre on Saturday 27 May.

The event will also promote Council’s ‘Fair-food map’ created in collaboration with Mia Cucina Food Tours and Maps, pinning the best eats in Fairfield City right now – from hot newcomers to time-honoured institutions, as endorsed by Mia Cucina. Find the food map .
