The Drum Theatre Launches 2024 with a Spectacular Lineup of Music and Dance Extravaganzas

The Drum Theatre

The Drum Theatre kicks off 2024 with exciting music and dance programs that you won’t want to miss.

Celebrate the incredible life of the late, great Loretta Lynn with ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter.’ Amber Joy Poulton portrays Loretta Lynn, Lizzie Moore as Patsy Cline, and Denis Surmon as Conway Twitty and Willie Nelson. Alongside the kickin’ band, The Holy Men, they will sing the story of a champion of women’s rights, a mother of six, and a lifetime of chart-topping country music hits.

Triple Grammy winner, Soweto Gospel Choir, is also gracing the Drum Theatre with their presence, bringing ‘Hope,’ an all-new concert that celebrates songs and anthems from the Freedom movement of Nelson Mandela’s South Africa, back to the Civil Rights Movement of Martin Luther King’s 1950s America. The choir is dedicated to sharing the joy of faith through music with audiences around the world, receiving critical acclaim and audience adoration for their powerful renditions of African American spirituals, gospel, and folk music. ‘Hope’ is a concert that will resonate forever in your hearts!

Remember watching Molly Meldrum introduce the hottest music acts every Sunday night? Join us for ‘The Songs of Countdown,’ a show that combines all the classic hits from the program with laugh-out-loud observations and takes on the era. Comedy legend George Kapiniaris and 80s music queen Tottie Goldsmith are joined by a backing band as they take a hilarious trip back in time.

Following these musical sensations are two leading dance productions. ‘Ballroom Blitz!’ brings you the ultimate dance extravaganza, choreographed by the remarkable Aric Yegudkin, a three-time Dancing with the Stars champion. This show is a breathtaking fusion of elegance, energy, and passion.

‘A Taste of Ireland―The Irish Music and Dance Sensation’ returns with a performance that is ‘Celtic—for this decade’. Laugh, cry, and jig into the night with a show that has entertained thousands. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the world’s most prominent Irish dance shows before it takes off around the globe once again.
