Southern Grampians Shire Council is hosting a morning tea and free fitness workshop at Hamilton Indoor Leisure & Aquatic Centre for women of all ages to celebrate This Girl Can Week. The ‘Wellness for All’ event is a celebration of supporting women of all ages to get active and the importance of movement for both young and the young at heart.
Southern Grampians Shire Council CEO Tony Doyle said that many retirees are looking after their grandchildren while parents are working, and this morning tea and interactive movement session will explore the importance of incorporating movement for all ages from grandchild through to grandparent.
“This is a safe and inclusive event designed for fun, connection, and movement. Grandparents, grandchildren, and all in between are encouraged to head to HILAC and take some time to focus on health and wellbeing,” said Tony.
“This event is also the perfect time for those who don’t go to the gym to come and see it. It can be an intimidating environment for some, so we encourage the community to come along. Perhaps some will discover that they enjoy it and will continue to go, which is a great thing.”
