The charges include Criminal Code Assault, failure to leave when required, and acting in a violent or disorderly manner.
Acting Inspector Danny Jackson said, “Barring orders are a vital tool for protecting the community, preventing individuals whose behaviour poses a risk to public safety or violates liquor licensing laws from entering licensed venues, ensuring that venues remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.”
Police Barring Orders can be issued when someone’s behaviour, such as an alcohol-related offence or offensive conduct, poses a risk to public safety on or near licensed premises.
In this case, the three men are prohibited from entering or being near any licensed venue in Southern Tasmania, including pubs, clubs, restaurants, and function centres, for six months.
“Tasmania Police works closely with licensed venues to uphold liquor licensing laws, which protect patrons and create safer spaces for the entire community,” said Acting Inspector Jackson.
Barring orders are part of Tasmania Police’s broader commitment to maintaining safety and supporting venues in fostering positive, responsible environments for all Tasmanians.
