Rooftop Movies will light up Northbridge for another three years thanks to a new partnership deal between the City of Perth and ARTRAGE.
A consistent community favourite, the seasonal movie line-up is packed with a mix of blockbusters, new releases and a sprinkling of cult classics.
Alongside movies, last season featured an array of food and drinks, rooftop yoga, quiz nights, DJ sets and a charity screening of the Australian movies classic, The Castle to raise money for Lifeline WA.
Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said Rooftop Movies has been a highlight in the City of Light’s event calendar for the past decade– attracting both locals and visitors to Northbridge and the surrounding businesses.
“The City is proud to support Rooftop Movies, events such as this cement Perth as WA’s vibrant and thriving events hub,” he said.
“My family and I look forward to grabbing a bean bag, sitting back and enjoying the show, and not to mention one of the best views of our City,” he said.
ARTRAGE, who has hosted the unique event in the City’s Roe St carpark since 2012, has been awarded an initial three-year licence agreement with two one-year options to take the event through to 2027.
“Rooftop Movies has become a summer staple in the City thanks to the stunning city views and incredibly good vibes,” said Courtney Meagher, ARTRAGE Cinema Producer.
“We’re very pleased to be back on the roof for another three years and excited to offer even more unique experiences for the people of Perth to enjoy – watch this space.”
Rooftop movies is currently closed for the winter and will return in November 2022 for the summer season.
