Social housing in the South West has received an important boost, following completion of three new modular homes in Manjimup.

These three two-bedroom, one-bathroom homes have been built to a Gold Standard for seniors’ accommodation by Fleetwood Building Solutions. The homes will be available for seniors on the housing waitlist in early 2025.

These homes are part of the Cook Labor Government’s record $3.6 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures.

As stated by Housing Minister John Carey:

“Our Government continues to do everything we can to bolster the supply of social housing across Western Australia, including through our record $3.6 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures.

“It’s brilliant to see another three modular buildings progressing in Manjimup and, more importantly, these new homes will provide safe, affordable, and secure housing to the most vulnerable members of the Manjimup community.

“Since the Cook Labor Government’s record $3.6 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures, we’ve added more than 2,600 social homes with more than 1,000 social homes currently under contract or construction throughout Western Australia.”

As stated by Warren-Blackwood MLA Jane Kelsbie:

“More affordable, safe, and secure housing is integral to regional town centres. I am proud to have advocated for these new social homes that will provide much needed housing to seniors in the Manjimup community.

“I’m proud be part of the Cook Labor Government, as we continue to respond to the housing needs across Warren-Blackwood through our $3.6 billion investment in housing and homelessness programs.”
