: Woolworths wants to help customers spend less this summer and is dropping the price of its Woolworths 600g sausage range by almost 30% to its lowest price on individual packs since 2019.
The Woolworths’ 600g sausage range includes eight popular varieties made with Australian beef, pork and chicken, and will be dropped from $7 to $5 per pack. Each pack contains between eight to 10 sausages, or 16 chipolatas.
Sausages are a key summer staple with Woolworths selling more than eight million packs or 64 million sausages across this range from this week until the end of February.
The drop in price of the Aussie BBQ favourite is joined by more than 400 Prices Dropped for Summer products.
In addition to sausages, several summer classics, including salad kits, seafood and a range of meat and poultry products for the barbeque have been dropped in price. There are also value offers to be found on several pantry staples like sauces, snacks, and kid’s yoghurts, as well as everyday household cleaning supplies and personal care items.

Overall, the total saving across the basket of Price Dropped for Summer products is $620, or an average of 18% less.
In addition to Prices Dropped customers are also being encouraged to take advantage of great prices on fresh produce this summer as the vegetable price deflation trend continues.
Some individual fruits and vegetables are down by more than 40 per cent compared to last year**, while vegetables overall are about 13% cheaper. Some of the highlights across categories of vegetables include tomatoes, sweetcorn, and capsicums (all down by 20% on average compared to last year).
While for fruit, blueberries and avocados as a whole are down an average 35% compared to last year. Looking ahead, summer fruits including cherries and stone fruit are set to be in abundance, which means better pricing. Mangoes are also currently great value, starting from $2.50^ for Calypso mangoes from Weds 29 Nov 2023.
Woolworths Supermarkets Managing Director, Natalie Davis said: “As the weather warms up we know these are some of the products that customers are buying more of, so we want to help them spend less on these seasonal staples.
“We’ve included products that are perfect for the barbeque in our Prices Dropped and Low Price programs. There are price drops on sausages, chicken kebabs and chicken tenders, which can be paired with several salad kits that are available from $4, including the Woolworths Classic Coleslaw Kit.
“Summer is also a great time to enjoy our great Australian fresh produce and increase your intake of fresh fruit and veg for a healthier start to the new year. And with prices continuing to stay low, fresh fruit and veg are excellent quality and value right now.
“Our Woolworths own brand products also continue to offer delicious and affordable options for our customers, while thousands of weekly specials will continue to run.
“There are lots of ways to spend less and we know customers are looking for more specials and offers. We’ve seen strong customer demand to our recent Prices Dropped program including 20 per cent off all our standard lamb cuts, where customers bought 60 per cent more lamb chops and cutlets in the first week of the program.
“We encourage our customers to look for our catalogues and check out our specials online to find even more value in their shop. Customers can now also filter products online by best unit price, to add the best value into their shopping baskets.”
This week, Woolworths is also announcing that it will match every dollar donated by customers to the OzHarvest Christmas appeal in-store and online from 30 November until 26 December 2023^^. Through the annual fundraising drive, Woolworths and OzHarvest aim to provide 10 million meals for those in need. Funds from this years’ Appeal will support OzHarvest in delivering fresh and nutritious food to more than 1,900 charities.

The is also continuing to run until 27 December 2023, and includes price drops on more than 150 items and 20 per cent off all standard cuts of lamb. This includes lamb leg roast at just $8/kg, which is the lowest regular price on lamb since June 2013.
