Josh Willie needs to explain whether he supports the community having a say in the location of the Hodgman majority Government’s new $30 million Brighton high school.
The three proposed sites have been shortlisted after extensive community consultation as we believe it’s critical the Brighton community has a key role in shaping the school.
Importantly, a second round of consultation is now underway to give the community an opportunity to have a say in the final site, this includes community meetings in Brighton next week.
As we have said repeatedly, co-location of the new high school with the Jordan River Learning Federation School Farm is not an option as modelling showed the farm and high school will not fit together on the school farm site.
Instead of being divisive Josh Willie should support the Government’s $30 million commitment to a new high school and back the consultation process occurring.
Just as importantly he needs to clearly state, does Labor support the exciting paddock to plate vision planned for the school farm on its current site?
