Detectives from the Echo taskforce have seized a tiny home following a warrant at the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang club house in Alphington this morning.
The warrant was executed at the Heidelberg Road address shortly after 10am on Friday, 29 November with assistance from the Special Operations Group.
Police seized the miniature property, which is alleged to have been stolen from a Campbellfield business in June this year.
The home, which is valued at approximately $70,000, was in the process of being renovated.
As part on the investigation into the theft, police identified that it had been transported to the OMCG clubhouse in Alphington.
Detectives spoke to a number of people at the clubhouse, however no one was arrested.
The investigation remains ongoing and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have information about the theft and the movements of the tiny home over the past five months.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
Quotes attributable to Detective Inspector Michael Daly, Echo Taskforce:
“We’re happy we’ve been able to locate the stolen property and the owners are likely going to be even more pleased to get it back.
“Detectives are still working through who may have been involved in the initial theft and how it came to end up here at the Alphington clubhouse.
“While the house is ‘tiny’, it’s not an insignificant size and certainly would have attracted some attention being transported.
“Some effort has also gone into making the tiny house look quite established within the clubhouse area and it appeared people had been staying in the house.
“We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the tiny house being transported, whether that’s back in June or at a later date. Police would also like to hear from anyone who has any other knowledge of the theft and who is involved.”
