Learn how to be more sustainable and increase resilience in your home at this weekend’s Rowes Bay Sustainability Centre Open Day.
The free family event on Sunday will include interactive kids’ activities, a native plant giveaway, a wildlife meet-and-greet, sustainability expert and practitioner displays, a sprinkler swap and a free sausage sizzle.
Division three representative Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said the free event was a great way to kick-start sustainable habits around the home.
“Sometimes the idea of having an environmentally-sustainable home can feel overwhelming. The Rowes Bay Sustainability Centre Open Day is a great place to learn practical tips to integrate sustainability into your home and garden,” Cr Greaney said.
“The event will have local experts and practitioners showcasing displays and will be available to answer questions you have about your home or garden’s sustainability.”
“This is a great event to bring the whole family to. There are free demonstrations, easy swaps you can make and interactive activities for the kids to take part in. If you’re in early you’ll also be able to take home a free native plant to add to your garden.”
The Rowes Bay Sustainability Centre Open Day runs from 9am to 1pm on Sunday 27 October 2024.
