A man will face court after driving his decorated car through Henley Square last night.
About 8.20pm on Sunday 24 November, Western District patrols attended Henley Square after numerous reports a car was being driven on the footpath and restricted area for pedestrians only.
Police were quickly on scene and spotted the grey Mazda Astina decked out with Christmas lights and ornaments. Patrols had a conversation with the driver, a 65-year-old man from Croydon Park, who stated he took a wrong turn. He submitted to a breath test where he provided a positive result of 0.071.
The man was reported for drink driving and driving in a manner dangerous. His car was defected and impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
