The Morrison Government is pleased to announce today, the appointment of Penny Fowler to the Tourism Australia Board of Directors.
Minister for Tourism Simon Birmingham said Mrs Fowler who is Chairman of the Herald and Weekly Times in Melbourne, Deputy Chair of The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and is on the Advisory Board of Visy, would bring extensive consumer marketing experience to the role.
“Mrs Fowler brings a wealth of experience with her and I trust will make an invaluable contribution to ensuring Australia continues to be a highly desirable destination for international travellers,” Minister Birmingham said.
“Australia’s $136 billion tourism industry employs 1 in 13 Australians and Tourism Australia has a vital role in helping promote Australia as a leisure and business events destination.
“Mrs Fowler will replace Andrea Staines, whose has made a significant contribution to the Board over the past three years.
“I look forward to working with Mrs Fowler and the other Board members and thank Andrea Staines for her significant contribution to the work of the Board.”
