Northern Territory Police have arrested a 36-year-old man for traffic offences in Wadeye.
Police located the man driving his vehicle with three children unrestrained on Nilihn Drive around 9:00am this morning.
Police allege the man appeared to be under the influence of an illicit substance and was driving an unregistered motor vehicle on a learner’s permit while unsupervised.
The man was arrested and conveyed to Wadeye Police Station where he returned a positive result for cannabis.
At the time of his arrest the man was driving to court to appear for prior offences.
He has been charged with:
• 3x Drive With Child Unrestrained
• Drive With Prohibited Drug In Body
• Breach Bail
• Learner Driver – No Person In Front Seat
• Drive Unregistered Vehicle
• Drive Uninsured Vehicle
• Fail To Display L Plates
He was remanded in custody to appear in Wadeye Local Court today.
