Travis Head charged with CA Code of Conduct breach

Cricket Australia (CA) advises that South Australia captain Travis Head has been charged for breaching the CA Code of Conduct on 28 November 2018 in his side’s JLT Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at Blundstone Arena.

Head was reported for breaching CA Code of Conduct Article 2.1.4 – showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match – a Level 1 offence.

The offence occurred during South Australia’s first innings, following Head’s dismissal.

As per the CA Code of Conduct procedure, Match Referee Peter Marshall considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a 50 per cent fine of Head’s match fee should he accept the umpires’ version of events, as it was his second offence in the past 18 months.

Head admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, no hearing was required.
