Robe (75km from Lucindale)

In less than an hour from Lucindale, you could be lounging on the beach at one of South Australia’s chicest coastal destinations. Soak up the spring sun on long sandy white beaches, kick back in cosmopolitan cafes and glam galleries and stop for a photo at the insta-famous Cape Dombey Obelisk. Stay the night at Aloha Robe and wake up with a morning stroll along Long Beach stretching 14km of sandy-white bliss or drive right on to the sand and spend the day enjoying the surf. The ultimate destination for lovers of bold red wine, this picturesque part of South Australia is world-famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon and its Shiraz isn’t far behind. More than 24 cellar doors pack the relatively small region, so set up camp for the night at Bellwether and spend a day tasting your way around renowned wineries including Penley Estate, Brand’s Laira, Wynns Coonawarra Estate and Katnook Estate.

Beachport (85km from Lucindale)

Take some time out before you head home from Triple J’s One Night Stand and kick back by the ocean at Beachport. Less than an hour from Lucindale, stroll down one of the longest jetties in Australia and take in the sites of this laid-back seaside town. Cruise down the Bowman Scenic Drive and stop to soak in epic coastal views at one of the vantage points along the way. You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of passing Southern Right Whales as they make their way down the coast on their annual migration from June to September.
