As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman:
“True Sport will be a game changer for the industry and SportWest is uniquely positioned to deliver the initiative with their links to government, industry and community organisations.
“A recent social return on investment study commissioned by SportWest confirmed that the gross benefit of organised sport in Western Australia each year is $10.3 billion – it is a growing industry which requires the supports and structures in place to allow it to thrive.
“Additionally, sport delivery and participation is ever changing with increased expectations and pressures on limited resources.
“Through DLGSC funding True Sport, the McGowan Government is supporting the sector that continues to provide the setting where Western Australians have the opportunity to develop life skills, build resilience, establish friendships and have fun, while strengthening our communities.”
