After years of being unable to play on the front lawn after the sun sets, bowls players at Bentleigh Bowling Club will welcome the Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s’ commitment in upgrading the club’s lighting.
The $20,000 grant will mean the ageing and hazardous lights will be replaced with a reliable and energy efficient system – one that the club can use at night, year round.
Leader of the Liberal Party, Matthew Guy, said this announcement would be welcomed by local members and will help in attracting a newer membership.
“Bowling has grown rapidly in popularity over the last few years and it’s great to be able to fund this important project for the Bentleigh area.”
“This investment by the Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s backs grassroots sport and provides local residents and families with a facility to be proud of.”
Liberal Candidate for Bentleigh, Debbie Taylor-Haynes, said she was proud to be delivering for her community and looked forward to enjoying playing bowls with her family late into the summer nights.
“I am delighted that the Liberals and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s will support Bentleigh Bowling Club and the local community by providing this much-needed lighting upgrade.”
