Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command have charged 12 people with an array of drug-related offences during an operation at the weekend.
On Saturday 15 February 2020, police conducted an operation targeting drug supply in and around the Bondi entertainment precinct utilising both uniform and plain clothes police.
Officers arrested 12 men during the night, and seized cocaine, MDMA and more than $8,500 in cash that police will allege were proceeds of crime.
Of the 12 people arrested, five were charged with supply prohibited drug and seven were charged with drug possession.
Of note, a 30-year-old man from Bondi was charged with possessing cocaine and resisting police in the execution of duty.
He is due to appear in Waverley Local Court in March 2020 – a date is yet to be set.
Detective Inspector Gretchen Atkins, Crime Manager, Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command said these operations are ongoing.
“We will continue to target drug supply and possession across the Eastern Suburbs area and work with other local government agencies to identify and target hot spots.”
