A man and woman have been arrested and an investigation is underway after the body of a man was located and a woman was allegedly kidnapped on the state’s Central Coast.
About 4.30pm yesterday (Saturday 28 January 2023), emergency services were called to Levitt Street, Wyong, following reports a woman had escaped a nearby unit after allegedly being kidnapped.
The 44-year-old woman told police she had allegedly been there since Thursday (26 January 2023).
She was treated at the scene before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition for treatment of multiple injuries including burns.
While speaking with detectives, the woman raised concerns for the welfare of a man who she believed was also at the unit.
Soon after, police located the body of a man inside. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.
A crime scene was established, which will be examined by specialist forensic police, and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
Following inquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested at the unit about 5.30pm and a 33-year-old woman was arrested at a home on Charmain Street, Watanobbi, about 10pm.
They were taken to Wyong Police Station, where they are assisting with inquiries.
