Two charged over alleged aggravated armed robbery at Kings Meadows

Two people have been charged after an alleged aggravated armed robbery at a Kings Meadows business overnight.

Police were called to the business on Hobart Road on Tuesday evening after reports two people had entered the store while in possession of a machete and hammer, and demanded cash.

The offenders fled the scene with a quantity of cash before they were quickly identified by uniform police officers nearby and arrested.

Both weapons were located and seized by police.

Nobody was physically injured during the alleged robbery.

An 18 year old Kings Meadows man and 17 year old youth from Riverside were each charged with aggravated armed robbery and bailed with strict conditions to appear in court at later dates.
