Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a double drowning in waters off Port Campbell this morning (21 April).
A man was taking photos from a rock ledge when he has been swept into the water by a large wave at the mouth of the Sherbrook River about 10.40am.
A rescue boat was deployed to assist the man, which has flipped in the surf and thrown the three occupants into the water.
One of the rescuers and the man in difficulty were winched from the water by an emergency helicopter.
The male rescuer is being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and the man swept off the rocks is being taken to hospital by road ambulance in a stable condition.
The bodies of the remaining two male rescuers were located in the water.
They were both declared deceased at the scene.
