Two men have been charged over an alleged assault in Sydney’s CBD last week.
About 7.30pm on Monday 9 October 2023, a 45-year-old man allegedly became involved in an argument with a group of men near the Sydney Opera House.
Police will allege in court that, during the argument, the man was allegedly assaulted and spat on.
Police intervened and the group, including the alleged victim, dispersed and left the area.
Strike Force Mealing investigators were notified and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, including a public appeal, two men, both aged 31, attended Mosman Police Station, where they were arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station about 11pm yesterday (Tuesday 17 October 2023).
Both men were charged with common assault and granted strict conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 8 November 2023.
Inquiries are continuing.
