Two men – including OMCG member – charged with drug supply offences – Raptor Squad

Two men have been charged with drug supply following a three-month investigation into the supply of methylamphetamine.

In October 2022, detectives attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad commenced Strike Force Jellingal to investigate the alleged supply of methylamphetamine in Sydney’s west.

Following inquiries, a 52-year-old man was arrested by Newcastle-Hunter Traffic and Highway Patrol Officers for an unrelated offence on Monday 16 January 2023. He remains bail refused in relation to this offence.

After additional investigations, Strike Force Jellingal detectives attended Newcastle Police Station yesterday (Tuesday 14 February 2023), where the man was charged with six offences, including supply indictable and large commercial quantities prohibited drug, and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court yesterday, where he was formally bail refused and will remain remanded in custody to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 12 April 2023.

Strike Force Jellingal detectives – assisted by Hunter Valley Police District – also arrested a 36-year-old man during a vehicle stop on Maitland Road, Cessnock, about 4.45pm on Tuesday 7 February 2023.

He was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with supply indictable quantity prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Cessnock Local Court the following day, where he was formally bail refused to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 22 February 2023.

Police will allege in court the older man – who’s a member of the Life and Death Outlaw Motorcycle Gang – and the younger man – an associate of the same club – supplied methylamphetamine on a number of occasions between November 2022 and January 2023.
