Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding a boating incident on the Murray River near Swan Reach overnight which resulted in two men being airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Just before 10pm on Friday 22 February, police received reports of a small aluminium boat upturned on the Murray River about 10km upstream from Swan Reach. The two men on board received serious injuries and were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Initial reports last night indicated that no other vessel was involved however, new information has since come to light and police now believe that a crash has occurred between two boats.
Detectives from Murray Bridge are making their way to the scene to assist with the investigation along with officers from the Water Operations Unit.
One man remains in a critical condition while the other is in a serious but stable condition.
