Two people have been charged following a search warrant in Sydney’s south west.
On Wednesday (11 September 2024), officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command commenced an investigation after an alleged aggravated break and enter at a unit on Confectioners Way, Rosebery, around 11.30pm.
Police were told a 35-year-old man allegedly forced entry into the home armed with a firearm, before assaulting a female occupant.
The man left the location prior to police arrival.
Following extensive inquiries, and with the assistance of the Tactical Operations Unit, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Higgins Street, Condell Park, about 10.55am yesterday (Thursday 12 September 2024).
During a search of the home, officers allegedly located and seized several items, including a firearm, ammunition, and mobile phones.
Three people, two men, aged 33 and 35, and a 33-year-old woman, were arrested at the location.
During the arrest of the younger man, he allegedly attempted to assault police. A taser was successfully deployed and he was arrested.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to hospital for further assessment.
The 35-year-old man was charged with special break & enter with intent – armed with dangerous weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possess unregistered firearm unauthorised pistol in public place, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and destroy or damage property.
The woman was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.
Both were refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 13 September 2024).
Investigations are ongoing.
