Two women charged after alleged aggravated robbery – Moree

Two women will face court today charged following an aggravated robbery in Moree last month.

About 2.45am on Saturday 27 July 2024, a 32-year-old woman left a hotel with two other people when she was approached by two women known to her at the intersection of Auburn Street and Allambie Place, Moree.

A verbal and physical argument ensued before one of the women allegedly stabbed the 32-year-old woman multiple times with an unknown object before taking the woman’s mobile phone and fleeing the location on foot.

The woman attended Moree Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which were not considered life threatening.

Officers attached to New England Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 11.45am yesterday (Tuesday 6 August 2024), police executed a search warrant at a home on Jaminda Place, Moree, and seized a mobile phone.

Two women – aged 30 and 26 – were arrested and taken to Moree Police Station.

The 30-year-old woman was charged with aggravated robbery and inflict actual bodily harm.

The other woman was charged with aggravated robbery and inflict actual bodily harm, and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (personal).

Both women were refused bail to appear at Armidale Local Court today (Wednesday 7 August 2024).
