Training Minister Simone McGurk will lead a delegation to the United Kingdom to showcase Western Australia as a preeminent destination for investment and promote major green energy initiatives and projects.
The mission will focus on exchanging knowledge and ideas around renewable energy, and how WA and the UK can collaborate to develop the workforce needed to underpin these opportunities. A cornerstone engagement for the mission is the SPE Offshore Europe exhibition being held in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The exhibition is a key platform for Europe’s energy industry to discuss a better energy future, with around 40,000 delegates expected to attend over three and a half days.
The ‘Team WA’ stand will have a key position on the forum floor showcasing the State at the forefront of the next wave of global energy production.
The 2023 exhibition is also the 50th anniversary of the event and will have a focus on driving the oil and gas sector forward into a green energy world.
Minister McGurk is set to give a series of presentations championing how WA is laying the foundations to be a global clean energy powerhouse and its plans to ensure that no community is left behind.
Other important engagements to be attended by Minister McGurk include meeting with the Nuclear Skills Task Force in London and the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Net Zero and Just Transition.
