Flinders University continues to cement its reputation as a world class institution, moving into the global top 400 in the 2024 QS ranking.
Flinders has risen 45 places to be ranked at 380 of some 1500 universities assessed.
Posting one of the most significant improvements in a very good year for Australian universities, Flinders has welcomed changes in the QS ranking methodology that better capture its strong underlying performance.
Vice Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling says it reflects Flinders University’s strategy to be a university of global standing.
‘Flinders is on a very healthy trajectory across several ranking indicators, and this confirms the exceptional progress we have been making in recent years,’ Professor Stirling says.
‘Our considerable investments in education and research are being reflected in the calibre of education our students are receiving and their increased employability, and the impactful research we’re delivering.
‘We’re progressing our vision with a new city campus opening next year, and our new state of the art Health and Medical Research Building at Bedford Park, to drive community connected research to address diseases and help people live better lives. Further research infrastructure will soon follow as part of our Flinders Village development.
‘Our responsiveness to emerging needs in fields such as defence will continue to see Flinders contributing to our state’s growth and development’ he says.
‘Flinders’ international outlook is also very positive, reflected in the solid performance in both the international students and international faculty measures.
‘Importantly, this result is testament to the calibre of our academic staff and their commitment to excellence,’ Professor Stirling says.
