UNITAR to Host a Public Event to Advance Dialogue on Ocean Action in the Indo-Pacific

  • UNITAR will host a public event to mark the culmination of the in-person workshop for the Japan-funded Leaders for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific: Sea and Human Security training programme on 21 February 2025 at the Elizabeth Rose Conference Hall, United Nations University, Tokyo.
  • The event, titled “Ways Forward for Ocean Action in the Indo-Pacific” is open to both in-person and online participation and will be livestreamed on
  • The programme will feature a keynote lecture, policy brief presentations by selected training participants, and an interactive panel discussion.

29 January 2025, Hiroshima, Japan – On 21 February, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) will host an in-person and live-streaming event, “Ways Forward for Ocean Action in the Indo-Pacific”, showcasing the programme’s outcomes and advancing dialogue on actionable solutions to sea and human security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. This event marks the culmination of the UNITAR workshop, taking place between 10 and 21 February 2025 in Japan, as part of the Japan-funded “Leaders for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific: Sea and Human Security” training programme, The event will be live-streamed on UNITAR Hiroshima’s YouTube channel.
