The Rockliff Liberal Government is delivering on its long term plan and doing what matters for all Tasmanians by increasing investment in Northern Tasmania and further strengthening our regional economies.

The Northern Tasmanian Advantage Investment Prospectus released today outlines the region’s opportunities for business growth across key sectors including manufacturing, construction, tourism, forestry, agriculture, renewable energy, healthcare and retail.

Premier and Minister for State Development, Trade and the Antarctic, Jeremy Rockliff, said the investment prospectus was part of the Liberal Government’s long-term plan to unleash the potential of Northern Tasmania.

“There has never been a better time to invest in Tasmania,” Premier Rockliff said.

“The northern region is a prime destination for investors aspiring to establish, diversify, or expand their operations and this prospectus is a comprehensive resource to attract and help businesses make informed decisions.

“We know the investment pipeline for Northern Tasmania is strong, with recent announcement such as SunCable’s advanced high-voltage subsea cable manufacturing facility, and the northern prospectus will further support attracting major investments.

“Tasmania has so many economic and social advantages, and our Government’s positive plan is ensuring we get this important message out to investors across the State, the nation and the world.

“The prospectus showcases what we already know, northern Tasmania is primed for investment and ready to welcome more businesses.

Case studies featured in the Northern Tasmanian Advantage are testament to the international and national success of local businesses, including Lease 65, Liberty Steel Group, Definium Technologies, Extractas Bioscience, Mountford Berries and Pivot Maritime International.
