A man has been charged after allegedly filming women without their consent at an event in Sydney earlier this month.
About 3pm yesterday (Monday 23 March 2020), officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were patrolling Bunnerong Road, Maroubra, when they stopped a Ford Mondeo due to the manner of driving.
After speaking with the driver – a 63-year-old man – police conducted a search of the vehicle and located sim cards and a digital camera.
Police will allege in court that the camera contained footage taken at an event in Darlinghurst on Thursday 12 March 2020, where the private areas of women were unknowingly filmed.
The driver was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with intentionally record intimate image without consent and two counts of fail to comply with reporting obligations.
The man was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court today (Tuesday 24 March 2020).
