The Minister for Climate Change and Energy, the Hon Chris Bowen announced today that a consultation paper on the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Electric Vehicle Strategy will be released for consultation in September 2022.
The submissions to the consultation paper will be used to inform the final strategy.
Consultation on the strategy will consider demand and supply-side measures – including fuel efficiency standards – to dramatically scale-up electric vehicle uptake.
The Minister said at the heart of the Strategy will be a plan to improve uptake of electric vehicles and improve affordability and choice by growing the Australian electric vehicle market.
